Although the iPhone is as beautiful in appearance as it is useful in function, the wide array of different application icons leave much to be desired in terms of uniformity. Luckily, for those of us who are anal enough to care about these things, the iPhone community allowed iPhone icon and system theming through an amazing little application called WinterBoard. I’ll spare you all the history behind Winterboard, but suffice it to say that it allows almost complete iPhone aesthetic customization.
Back in November 2008, after contributing custom icons to Louie Mantia and David Lanham’s great Agua iPhone Theme, I decided to design my very own Winterboard theme for the iPhone. The result was Twilight (as seen on the right), a unified iPhone system theme made up of 6 distinct and vibrant colors.
Since its release, Twilight has been downloaded over 21,000 times, and in its current state, the theme includes 200+ icons. The latest version of the theme is available for download both here, as well as on the ModMyI Cydia Repository on the iPhone.
In addition to the theme itself, I have also created a matching SBSettings theme, which keeps your (and my) phone even more unified. You can find the Twilight SBSettings theme on the BigBoss repository, or for download here.
Since I cannot devote much time to maintaining Twilight these days, I have also created a Twilight Photoshop Template as well as a Twilight Tutorial (in HD!), both of which make creating new Twilight icons extremely simple (6 easy steps).
Below is just a small sample of the icons the Twilight theme currently includes (click for full size):

Although I do create new Twilight icons for new iPhone apps that I use, I sometimes take requests for additional icons. These requests can be posted on the Twilight MacThemes thread, to which I am subscribed. If you are interested in requesting an icon, please include a link to the application’s original icon in your post.
I released the first version of Twilight in November, but I haven’t posted about it here until now. Therefore, below you can find the Twilight version history, but I’m starting with the 5th version, so its slightly truncated. Enjoy!
